When Jesus said “to preach the acceptable year of Adonai” (Luke 4:19), The Chosen episode (byu.tv “Physician heal yourself”) indicated it was during Rosh Hashanah – I believe this is incorrect. This event occurred on the first Sabbath after Shavuot June 7, 27 CE. Ref: The Chronological Gospels, pg 91, note [Lk 4:19.1].
IMHO, this event is more about Yeshua Jesus being the sacrificial Lamb of God (aka Passover lamb) than the Jubilee Year that the Chosen episode suggested. “Yeshua accurately proclaimed the final ‘one year’ countdown in which the Spring Feasts of Adonai would be fulfilled.”
Rabbi Sobel: Shalom to you.I have a question…in one episode of one of your teachings you mentioned the odds of us being born as humans. Will you tell me again?
I was listening to your show yesterday. I just “happened” upon you speaking about forgiveness. I have been invited to a few forgiveness workshops as well as have read a few books on the subject. I do understand the importance of forgiveness so that one can move on in their own lives. It’s a personal journey. I do understand. My question is what about those who may need guidance in saying “I’m sorry.” That may also be an element that needs healing as well. How does one begin with the words of “I’m sorry”? Or even the introspection of self to bring those words forth?
I am an African-American female. I was having dinner with my husband, who is Swiss German, and a visiting acquaintance from Switzerland. This acquaintance with no history of slavery said to me that he is sorry for what has happened to the African Americans in this country, the USA. I started crying. I am very aware that neither of us existed during that time, although past lives could be a factor, but yet to have the ability to just say “I’m sorry” is also very healing as well.
Letters and Numbers V2 is now being dripped (after V1) to our monthly donors exclusively in the Teaching Library – fusionglobal.org/teaching-library. The Study guide will release Q1 of 2026
Rabbi Jason Sobel, I thank you for all of your books, and your amazing teachings. The Holy Spirit has assuredly anointed you and blessed those of us who believe and have embraced your insights. I understand that Vonlume two of Hebrew Letters and Numbers is exclusivley available only to your monthly donors. Rabbi, I am the least of all my brethren. By the worlds standards I live well below the poverty level. However, in the things pertaining to God I am an extremely wealthy man. I have been endowed with great understanding and knowledge of the Holy One of Isreal. Please, in all humility I am pleading with you to make volume two available to all who desire to be fed with the deeper things of God. I have not the means to be a donor of any significance. But I have supported your ministry through the purchase of three of your books. My Lord supplies all my needs, and with my little disability income I am able to make it. Please consider this request as an utterance of the Holy Spirit who lives and dwells in us both. Amen 🙏
Rabbi Sobel,
Today a friend shared a Facebook video claiming that the Hebrew meaning of the names in Genesis 5 taken in order speak of Jesus: “Man appointed mortal sorrow. The shining one of God must comedown teaching. His death shall bring the despairing comfort in HaShem.” Is this true? Were genealogical names listed to send “secret messages”? I did Google all meanings; this could be true. You would know best.
