It Started With an Encounter

I grew up in a traditional Jewish home in New Jersey, and by my late teens I was working in the New York City music industry — surrounded by the kind of success most people chase, yet quietly certain there had to be more to life than that.

So I went searching. I studied with my rabbi, and I pushed further still — into martial arts, yoga, and Eastern meditation — hungry for a real encounter with God rather than just religion. I found it where I least expected. One day, deep in meditation, I came face to face with a King seated on His throne, and I knew Him: Yeshua, Jesus, the Messiah.

In that moment, everything I’d been raised with stopped being routine and came alive. The traditions, the feasts, the ancient words took on new depth as God connected the wisdom of the old with the teachings of the Messiah. The Bible was no longer a book I studied. It had become a story I was being invited to walk in.

Why I Started Fusion Global

That personal revival became a calling I couldn’t keep to myself. It’s why I founded Fusion Global: to reconnect Jewish and Christian followers of Jesus, recover the lost connection to our Hebrew roots, and reignite the first-century movement that once changed the world — and will again.

So much of what we read in the New Testament was never meant to be separated from the Jewish soil it grew in. When you put the two back together — ancient Hebrew wisdom and the teachings of the Messiah — familiar passages open up. Things hiding in plain sight come into focus. Your faith moves from black-and-white into high definition.

That’s the heart of Fusion: not more information, but a deeper, more vibrant connection to Yeshua, to His Word, and to the inheritance He’s already given you.

Rabbi Jason Sobel received his rabbinic ordination from the Union of Messianic Jewish Congregations (UMJC) in 2005. He holds a B.A. in Jewish Studies from Moody Bible Institute and an M.A. in Intercultural Studies from Southeastern Seminary.
