Words as Weapons

Words as Weapons

As kids, we learned, “Sticks and stones may break my bones but words will never hurt me.” Wrong. Words break or make destinies. God spoke our world into existence. Proverbs warns that life and death are in the tongue. We are blessed by and bear the wounds of others’ words. How many scars have our words left? In Matthew, Jesus teaches that our words come from the overflow of the heart. This message challenges us to weigh our words and their impact as weapons of destruction or wells of life.
